39/366 Let’s leave the mistakes behind for now (I could probably complete this entire 365 project with mine) and move onto something a little different. Occasionally, when I find myself in the mood, I like to purchase a bouquet of flowers, set up a little studio and do some macro/close-up photography. As someone who started off with digital photography and a technical minded person in general, I used to focus on sharpness, resolution and contrast above all else. Photographing with film has helped me see beyond these technical qualities and led me to embrace softness, subtlety and glow. So the last time I set up the studio for some close-ups, I made sure to also set up a Konica SLR and make some photographs on film. It was a much more complicated process than with a modern mirrorless camera, but at the same time was very rewarding. I really like the results, softness, glow and all.
