The light fantastic

114/366 During our visit to Athens we also visited a number of other historical landmarks, such as the Ancient Agora of Athens. Here in the column lined Stoa of Attalos I made the obvious photo with the disappearing viewpoint (second image). I was pretty happy with that (even if I wasn’t able to see it at the time) and went about exploring the museum. While we were in the museum the sun burned its way through the clouds and so changed the scene I had photographed earlier completely! So I lined up the photo again, this time in the opposite direction, and made the first image. This is the one that I like better and is fixed in my memories. It just goes to show how important light is to creating an interesting photograph, not to mention our emotional reaction to a time or place.
