279/366 While I feel like I came to grips with Lomography’s Babylon film pretty quickly and I got more or less the results that I expected from it, the same can’t be said for their Fantome film. At an ultra low ISO of 8, Fantome needs even more light than Babylon and definitely likes sunny days. On the other hand, it has a small dynamic range, and therefore high contrast, which is generally not the greatest combination with the already high contrast conditions present on such days. Even knowing that the resulting images would have a graphic white/black look, I was still taken aback by the results, especially in how fast the highlights are lost.
In the following posts I have collected a set of images from my first two rolls of Fantome, all taken with a Leica M3 and Noctilux f1 and developed in Ars-Imago’s version of Rodinal. The results are fruity, to say the least.
