281/366 The forest tends to have even higher contrast on sunny days – light beams shining through the canopy cast illumination in patches, while much more of the forest remains in deep shadow. Even worse are the patches of sky showing through the canopy. These tend to blow out even on high latitude films when exposing for the forest itself. So I was tempting fate with this image, knowing that it would mostly be white on black, however I do think it works quite well like this. The tree and its foliage bring a sort of twisting movement into the photo, which is made more obvious by the lack of too much visible detail.
