An unfamiliar view

109/366 On descending from the Acropolis, we visited the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and Byzantine Cistern on the way to the Theatre of Dionysus. On the way there we walked underneath the southern wall of the Acropolis, which attracted my eye due to its (relative) lack of ornamentation. With the heads of numerous tourists peeking up over the wall, I thought this would make a fun image. I’d be interested to know if you managed to recognise the Acropolis in this image. Without the tell-tale form of the Parthenon, I certainly would not have.

    1. Yes, this is exactly what I thought. I have certainly seen the Acropolis on television, print and the internet previously, but always from one or two different angles and from those angles it is certainly recognisable.
