143/366 Further along the coast in Piraeus, we came to this scene looking back toward the sprawl of Athens. Normally this would be where I would reach for a camera with a different form factor, so as to emphasise the beautiful background and leave out the rather mundane foreground. I didn’t have one with me however, so I made the image thinking that I would crop out the foreground in post processing. However, when I came to do that I realised that the image presented an interesting dichotomy between the beautiful things that we tourists (want to) see and the everyday that typifies these grand destinations for the locals. Now I wish I had included more of everyday Greece in my images, rather than just the postcard views!
