Vintage glow

254/366 Where I once was repulsed by the optical imperfections of vintage lenses, I now enjoy using them in my film photography to get away from the ultra perfect rendition of modern digital cameras and lenses. Here at the train station in Baden the glow on the side of the train helps to visually pull it forward, increasing the 3D-ness of the image.

Some of the modern designs have very abrupt transitions between in and out of focus areas (the current 50 mm Summilux ASPH comes to mind) which can look good in some cases, but I am definitely currently preferring the more gentle imaging of some older designs.
